Deja vu Kennels was established in 1982 in Bealeton, Virginia. Starting with one golden in obedience (then followed by two Labradors), we discovered the wonders of the dog show world and started looking for a golden to show in conformation. Soon we were hooked! Over the years we have produced breed champions in the U.S., Canada, and South America. We have also produced obedience dogs, and a drug-detection dog, as well as many loving pets. Our dogs have been used as service dogs for Canine Companions for Independence and Leader Dogs for the Blind. |
As a member of the Labrador Retriever Club Inc., The Labrador Retriever Club of the Potomac and Golden
Retriever Club of America, we follow a strict Breeders Code of Ethics. All our dogs are screened for genetic
problems, and have OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) hip clearances and AVCO (eye clearances),
and all Goldens are screened for SAS (cardiac screen for sub-aortic stenosis). Due to the discovery of a few
cardiac disorders in Labradors we have decided to screen our adult Labradors by a
cardiologist also. There are no proven inheritable heart problems in Labs; but we feel this is a small price to pay to
insure healthy puppies.
